My family and I stayed at Mont Joli for only 1 night and we were glad we did. The rooms were in need of serious renovation especially the bathrooms. We had trouble with a toilet that they supposedly fixed. The rooms appeared filthy with poor lighting and looked very depressing. The nicest part of the property was the view from... more

Myself, husband, 2 children, and cousins (who live in Haiti )decided to spend 1 night here after learning about it's reputation through word of mouth of being one of the best hotels in Cap Haitian(It was so nice we ended up staying 2 nights). I have to say I was truly impressed with the resort. It was much like a... more

Just retured from Haiti in May 2oo8, we were the medical team working in Melot at Hospital ,what a wonderful experince to be able to help the Haitian people one person at a time! I am a missionary kid that currently lives in Haiti, about 30 minutes away from the Citadelle.I got to see the Citadelle multiple times throughout my life and the view at the top is AWESOME! Its cool to know the history and everything that took place in order for the Citadelle to be made. I cant believe so many people... more

This island is as beautiful as it is difficult to reach. Unless one is ready to spend lots of money and get a private boat from one of the two hotels, to find a fisherman boat in the port of Les Cayes is not too easy.....the dirtyness and confusion is as spread here as in certain area of Port-au-Prince.....when you... more

I spent 7 months in Haiti during the winter/spring of 2005/2006 while working for MIEEH. The 4 weeks that I was fortunate to stay at Cormier Plage were the best accommodations and time that I had while we were working in Nord and Nord Est. Bernadette at the bar always welcomed us in with a smile in the evening after... more

Auberge au Picolet

I recently stayed at l'Auberge in December. My stay was nice; the linen and the room were clean. The place was impeccable. The food was fine. For variety, I went to a restaurant dansant down the street, about a block from the hotel. I felt very safe at the hotel and would recommend it to anyone. I rate it above... more

When I walked into Cormier, I knew it was some place I wanted to be. I could see myself getting married there. The people were so nice and the beach was quiet and very clean. The food was some of the best I had all vacation! The Cevice was incredible! I would recommend it to everyone who is looking for... more

I stayed at the Rio Christophe for two weeks in October. It is a beautiful old building in nice walled gardens. It is an old mansion built by Cristophe to live in while the Citadel was being constructed, then the Du Ponts owned it. So it was protected as the rest of the city sank into squalor. (all this is... more

I come to Haiti once a year and always stay at the Mont Joli. I must say, it is quite a treat. The staff is attentive, food wonderful, and Nicholas is charming as is Tyson and the rest of the staff. I will be there again in a few days and look forward to seeing my old "friends". Teresa S.... more

I don't know if this information is still valid, as I stayed her a few years ago. When I first tried to post this review , the site search box advised that there are no Haiti hotels and no Cormier Plage Haiti, and I felt I had to let travelers know about this one. ( In fact it still says... more

I have been to this hotel many times and always enjoy it. The service is good, the rooms are spacious with comfortable beds, the food is well prepared and the beach is very clean and uncrowded. And they make excellent rum sours, which you can drink while playing backgammon near the bar! I have been there many times with friends... more

The external environment and the size of the room make Montjoli a hotel but the bed, the covers, the bathroom, the closet, the TV with less than 5 US channels make it more like a motel. There is no soap, shampoo etc and you would not want to use this 2 little towels in the bathroom to dry yourshelf after... more

We spent two weeks in Labadie in Feb 2006. This was our first trip to a 3rd world country and did not know what to expect. Being the only ones in the guest house during our stay, we were able to enjoy our quiet time away. The noise went on long into the night therefore we found it difficult to... more

I had spent two weeks in Labadie in Feb/Mar of 2005. This was my third trip there to do some missionary work in Labadie. The guest house is perfect to escape the madness of North America. I could really enjoy my alone time as well as spend a lot of time with the people of Labadie. The hospitality from Jo... more

I have been traveling to Haiti for over 40 years. This trip I was bumped from my usual hotel to the Auberge Au Picolet. It is right on the ocean. I went to the Citadel on a mission trip with Good Shepherd Ministries Dec 2004. It is a long walk from the parking lot so give yourself time and bring water. While thousands of tourists visit the Caribbean each year most steer clear of Haiti. Haiti is a country in turmoil with more than its fair share of poverty and that must be kept in mind when traveling there. However, our family of five recently returned from an amazing vacation there on the north side of the island and spent 8... more
