Gingerbread Hill and its proprietors may not need more effusive praise, but I will provide some nevertheless. First, Montserrat: a dizzy plane ride from flat, overdeveloped Antigua to a vertiginously green, lush place only a few minutes away. Firstly, thanks to Sunny for a terrific tour. Mike and I (Mark) thank you for taking us to some incredible places. Gingerbread Hill is a brilliant place to stay. When my sister and I drove up to Gourmet Gardens, honestly, we said, "This can't be it". But it was it. A very humble building with Christmas lights hung loosely from the eaves of the porch. We had reservations so we sat down. The food was great. The surroundings soft and comforting. No frills, nothing slick here. I loved it.... more
