The Lamb Inn

Dec 30, 2008

We have just had a family get together at the Lamb Inn. People had travelled from Yorkshire, South Wales and Surrey and took over seven of the rooms for a couple of nights. The experience could not have been better. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who were polite and most helpful. The food was excellent and the... more

Holly House B&B

Dec 29, 2008

We had an American friend over and took her to the Cotwolds as a new experience for her. We went in November and it was a particularly cold few days. Our rooms were extremely chilly, and it appeared that the heating had only been turned on a short time before our arrival. We had given arrival time in advance. The... more

Alderley Guest house

A very friendly B&B just outside the centre of Bourton where the owners try to make your stay just like home. We were welcomed with tea out in the garden, a nice chat and two lovely small dogs in attendance. The period room that we were given was amazing with its own settee, coffee table and a very relaxing atmosphere.... more

The Lamb Inn

Dec 15, 2008

Enchanting! What a beautiful setting for our 3 day romantic getaway. Our room was perfectly lovely. Clean, comfortable and cosy, with modern facilities delicately balanced amongst old fashioned elegance. I must say, our jaccuzi bath was a nice finishing touch! The food was extremely good and, every member of staff went out of there way to make our stay extra... more

China Town Restaurant

Dec 8, 2008

We visited the China Town restaurant about 5.30pm on a cold, dark, December Sunday evening. All the other eating places in Bourton-on-the-Water were either closed on Sundays or not opening until 6.30pm or later. We were made welcome, and had an enjoyable Chinese meal. The service was good, and friendly. We just chose from the menu, but they also offered... more

We arrived at the Rose Tree just as it opened, at 6pm on a December Saturday. We were the only customers.. but by the time we left it was very busy.. booking would be advisable. (A lot of the guests seemed to be locals, not passing tourists, which is a good sign). We were made very welcome, given a table... more

The Lamb Inn

Dec 7, 2008

We spent a very enjoyable and relaxing 3 nights at the Lamb Inn. The Inn had a very welcoming atmosphere and the suite we stayed in was very comfortable and clean. Meals were excellent and the staff were all very friendly and obliging. We would definately recommend the Lamb and will be returning ourselves in the very near future. more

Mousetrap Inn

Rooms can be small and shower access difficult. There is some noise associated with an Inn and the road. Breakfast is standard. Most important have e mail confirmation of price you will be charged and the room. more

As you will read below, I was not a huge fan of the Lords of the Manor hotel but that may well be because all of the other guests were at least 20-30 years older than us (40) and certain staff members were snooty and cold. My boyfriend and I recently stayed here for 2 nights (Nov. 26-28) on a... more

Dial House Hotel

We stayed for 3 nights bed and breakfast during October 2008. We booked from the brochure which gave us the impression that our bedroom would be one of the old worlde style in the old house. Unfortunately it turned out to be in the annexe where the bedrooms are small with smart ,but modern furnishings. Our bedroom we considered therefore... more

Elvington Guest House

Nov 27, 2008

Ann and Margaret run a friendly, welcoming and comfortable B&B. We stayed in a beautiful and roomy double en-suite upstairs room. We could not fault a thing. The home made breakfast was ample, hot and tasty. We had an excellent 3 days in the Cotswolds made even better by staying at the Elvington. Value for money was outstanding. more

We arrived on the Monday night to be greeted at reception by a very friendly man who gave us the room key and explained what time breakfast was, how to lock the door etc. We were staying in room 15...to begin with: as we arrived quite late we literally dumped our bags went for a bit of a walk and... more

Elvington Guest House

We visited this B&B in June. The house is amazing, at the end of the village. Rooms are spacious, quiet, with windows to the garden. We liked a plushy sheep on the bed :-). The houseowner was very helpful and kind. We are going to this house next year with our frinds. We recommend it !!! more

Mousetrap Inn

Not quite sure what the other reviews were about for this place. My husband and I were recommended Bourton on the Water from a work colleague. We found the Mouse Trap Inn on a web search and decided to give it a try. Having already booked the room for the weekend we read these mixed reviews and were slightly concerned... more

Dial House Hotel

Loved every minute at this hotel. Would love to go back for a special occasion as only 2.5 hour drive from London. The Dial House Hotel is a beautiful building in a lovely quaint town. There was a real sense of luxury in the place, from the chic bar area, to little touches like the jars of individual jam portions... more

Before reading this, do please be aware of two facts, 1) we did visit this restaurant on Mother’s Day 2007 before this visit (it wasn’t as bad as below by a long mile!), and also, 2) the owners were away (apparently!) when we visited for lunch as per my review below: So taking into account the above, I will continue..... more

Bourton on water is a great location and very pretty village. The food at the hotel were excellent, breakfast made to order. We stayed in the coach house for 3 nights, after our first night we asked to move rooms because the boiler room was next door which sounded like a marching band. The staff were very helpful and let... more

Trevone

Nov 6, 2008

My wife and I made a three night stop over in Bourton-on-the Water on our way to Devon. We had the pleasure of staying at The Trevone B&B. This has to be one the best B&Bs we have ever stayed at. It is a beautiful original Cotswold house, which has been very nicely renovated. Although there are only two rooms... more
