The Hotel Excel in Tunis is a wonderful, wonderful place to stay. The staff are helpful, friendly, and fluent in English, the location (just across from the Hotel Africa on Ave Habib Bourguiba) could not be better, and the rooms were clean and modern. We have often looked to holiday at interesting locales. We arranged this ourselves to visit during Tunamas, the local solstice celebration in late December near the Christmastime. Great location on the main drag of the French town, ten minutes walk from the medina and about ten minutes cab drive from the airport.
