With extremely short time (Cruise ship stop) and not having Mauritius rupees we could not enter the Museum, only its nice Souvenir shop, where we could not purchase anything, because of the currency problem.(Our info .has been that Dollars, Euros and British Pounds are generally accepted in Port Louis.) My Stay at the labourdonnais was excellent. In the centre of Port Louis, with easy access to the shops and the waterfront. The hotel is nicely appointed and the staff all friendly and helpful. My husband and I visited the gardens. We had a guide (about £1) who pointed out all the different plants and told us lots of interesting facts. We particularly liked the bleeding tree and giant lilly pads. Worth a look and a nice few hours to wander around in the peace and quiet. more
