We stayed here before and after a trip to Isabela Island. The location is convenient, it's easy to get to everything. We had a sea view the first night and an interior room when we came back. I actually liked the interior room better, it was quieter without the waves crashing and the air conditioner worked better. The beds were... more

The Albemarle Hotel is clearly the best choice for accommodations on Isabela Island in the Galapagos. The hotel has the best view in Isabela ... and if that's not enough, it is very clean, comfortable (hot water and air conditioning) and well run. From what I saw while walking around the town, the was far and away the nicest hotel... more

Galapagos Journey I catamaran

We spent a full month browsing websites and reviewing itineraries for our trip to the Galapagos Islands, we wanted a boat that did not move much but did not like the idea of a large cruise ship. We finally ran into Galapagos Journey website where they offer cruises on a catamaran which is more stable than a monohaul. We decide... more

We were in an 8 day cruise with the Sulidae boat and I have to say we had an excellent time there. The crew was outstanding and the guide, Raul, was so nice, knowledgable and very active, having the group all the time busy with loads of activities. Very recomendable to everyone visiting the Galapagos in a low budget. At... more

My girlfriend and I had a great time in Isabela and hotel Abermarle. I'm writing this review because I think it is important for other people to know this hotel is the best in Isabela. I had such a hard time deciding where to stay, but I'm glad I chose this hotel. The room was nice and spacious, had a... more

A whole week of sunny, blue sky with lots of activities for all my family members wouldn´t have been perfect without The Red Mangrove, the cutest corner in the islands, our center of operations. A revamped 10 cozy rooms Inn, surrounded by shining green mangroves, walking distance to Darwin's Station, with a warm-hearted, professional crew, who gave us an unusual... more

We stayed in the Presidential Suite. I got a great deal and booked it really early. This place was out of this world. I just can't imagine someone finding fault with this place. Staff: These people have the kind of service that really stands out. Ex: I mentioned that the dive operation was supposed to call to let us know... more

Our 25th wedding anniversay trip started with Carolina at Metropolitan Touring. She made all of the arrangements and everything went smoothly. She was attentive and responsive. We did a seven day package which included four day trips on the hotel boat. First rate crew and the luncheons on board were extraordinary. The locations were great as they including hiking, birds,... more

Hotel Albemarle is exceptional, particularly against the backdrop of Puerto Villamil, a sleepy fishing village. The hotel's owner, Max Murray, is an Englishman in his 30s who is extremely helpful in both arranging excursions and providing advice as a local. We stayed in the only suite, which is a luxurious 1-bedroom apartment. The bathroom in the suite is top-notch, with... more

I traveled here with my high school group, and we found the hotel to be horrible. In my room of four girls, two of our beds were inhabited with tons of small bugs of different varieties, so we ended up having to share beds. We had cockroaches in our bathroom, and our toilet clogged up after two days. The bathroom... more

I just got back from the Galapagos and spent 3 nights at the Red Mangrove Adventure Inn. It is my kind of place - beautifully set into a grove of Mangroves so it blends into the landscape and it also keeps it naturally cooler. I stayed in the Suite Minor, which was just lovely. Very clean, working air conditioning, tv,... more

In April we returned from our trip to Machu Picchu and the Galapagos Islands. We had the most incredible time in the Galapagos. We traveled on a small chartered boat The Athala for four glorious nights. The ship was beautiful and the food delicious. We had a room with a private balcony. The crew was so attentive. This is a wonderful experience in an awesome setting. We took our family; we're in our sixties, and two children in their late twenties/early thirties with their significant others. We all agree it was the best vacation ever. We did the eight-day/seven night package and felt it was worth every penny. Because of the desire to preserve the environment the... more

Hotel Solymar

Sol Y Mar isn't cheap by any stretch for Ecuador, but it's absolutely worth it. Our very first impression of the hotel was that it looked and felt like a multi-million-dollar Cancun-style professional resort transplanted to the Galapagos -- without ruining any of the surrounding beauty. As an alternative to a multi-day cruise around the Galapagos Islands, we decided to... more

It was a stunning experience. Galapagos Islands is nature pure and I had expected it but I had not expected that in the Red Mangrove you already have the feeling to be IN that nature - a part of it. Entering through the mangroves you get excited and wants to know what is behind it. The hotel, located in or... more

I can not say enough wonderful things about this hotel. The staff was respectful, helpful and courteous. The owner is a colorful and engaging guy who lives part of the year in Denmark.
