During daytime you"d think you are in a country fair,crowded,noisy but after the buses leave all is quiet ,dinner is great,.Though it belongs to Orient Express food (breakfast,lunch tea and dinner )is much better than on the Hiram Bingham train.I loved the view of the montains,the small room is no problem as you spend most time in the garden and... more

We spent one night in late June at the Sanctuary Lodge, and it was worth every penny. Like most folks, we thought twice about spending $700+ for a room, but we have no regrets. This hotel is not to be missed when visiting Machu Picchu. It's location is, to say the least, an advantage. Besides being able to wander around the ruins well after the crowds have all left for the last train to Cuzco, and being at the ruins the minute they open (6am) to watch the sun hit the Inca sundial, the... more
