Savuti Safari Lodge

We stayed in the savuti safari lodge on our honeymoon. Absolutely loved it. Great food, great accommadation and lovely staff. Our chalet looked over a waterhole where elephants were frequent visitors. There is no heating and it's very cold in the mornings in June/July so would recommend bringing plenty of warm clothes if you're visiting at that time. more

This review is of Savuti Camp, Linyanti Reserve (not to be confused with Savuti Campsite or Savute Elephant Camp). The camp is run by Wilderness Safaris. Savuti wins the distinction of being our favorite safari camp. We visited 3 Botswana camps with 2 nights at each camp. While we enjoyed all 3, Savuti was truly special. Our safari guide, Tsepo,... more

We selected a range of different lodges for our four week tour in Southern Africa, and the tented safari in Chobe National Park was the most basic, and cheapest. These are real tents - two person tents without any ablutions. The camp itself has one chemical toilet, and a bush shower. One does not venture out of the tent once... more

We were collected at the airstrip by Alex. We waited another 10 minutes for another flight to come in, and an English couple joined the three of us. As it was already past 3:30 pm, and the Camp was a good 45 minute drive away, Alex suggested that we go on a game drive. We all had no problem with... more

In my opinon, safaris are all about the animals. Thus, the guide is the most critical factor in determining the success of your safari. At Muchenje, the guides were incredibly well-trained, committed to locating whatever animals we hoped to see. They educated us, sharing thier in-depth knowledge of flora and fauna. answering our many questions. They worked non-stop to please.... more

Spent 3 nights at Savute camp out of 9 nights and 3 camp stays. We loved this camp as it had some of the best wildlife consistently. We had 2 sightings of wild dog (a pack of 10-12) and one time a confrontation with a hyena which we thought was going to end with the hyena being lunch, but alas,... more

This is a friendly place run by South Africans who will do their best to ensure you are happy. The main entrance and dining area has just been redone and doesn't quite work. There is almost no shade--but they are fixing this. However, in the mornings and evenings, the design works well and you dine over looking expansive plains. (It... more

We travelled to Chobe with a group of 36 people on an incentive through our company. Chobe is very impressive, and even on the driveway up to the lodge we spotted all sorts of wildlife - elephants, giraffe, impala. The lodge is very nice and authentic to Africa. The rooms are nice and we were lucky enough to be upgraded... more

Duma Tau Camp, Linyanti Reserve

The tents are luxuriously equipped, the view from the tent is simply amazing. The guides are highly prepared and professional (one in particular named OLI). Our game drives were exciting and unforgettable. Food quality is definitely above average. I absolutely would suggest it to everybody. more

From the moment we got to the camp the welcome was warm and friendly. The staff, guides and manager Isaac were all brilliant. The tents are a little dated but this was a minor point on an otherwise excellent 3 days. The food was of a high standard with great 3 course meals every night and wonderful porridge and freshly... more

My husband & I have recently returned from a trip to Botswana, Victoria Falls & South Africa. Whilst in Botswana we stayed at Chobe Chilwero and we absolutely loved it. The accommodation, the food, the wine, the service and the safari were first class and we would thorougly recommend it. It was slightly different from other safaris we have been... more

This is a game camp – but rather a special one. Despite our usual rule of not going back, if we do arrange a game viewing trip to Botswana in the future, we shall go back to Muchenje because: • The managers are so attentive. The wife saw that I was having difficulty climbing into the jeep for the first... more

I was only able to spend 1 night at Muchenje, but will always remember the wonderful hospitality, where a guest's every wish is anticipated, the yummy home cooked food, Dan, the knowledgeable and very nice guide, and the lovely chalets set in a fantastic location. On my 2 game drives I saw impala, elephants, baboons, giraffe, hippo, buffalo, lions and... more

Cannot believe I have read those reviews!!Maybe if you have never been to another camp. It sells as a 4* plus accomodation, when in fact is very basic and the food barely edible.towels small and faded and frayed. Staff refusing to brign coffee to room.It would be ok if they just sold it for what it is. a basic 2... more

Duma Tau was one of the best places I have ever stayed in. Seriously! My partner and I stayed at the lodge for three nights on our African safari and it was by far our favorite place in Africa. The accommodations were top-notch, staff was amazing and most importantly... the animals were abundant. We saw elephants, hippos, lions, leopard, zebra,... more

I completed an overnight safari in Chobe and I have to say of the three safaris I have been on, including a week long in Krueger, Chobe was absolutely the best. I know that each safari experience depends a lot on the season, the guide and a lot of luck, but Botswana just seems friendlier than South Africa and more... more

Had 2 nights at the Kwando Lagoon Camp in Botswana and travelled there by speedboat transfer from Lianshulu in Namibia. We were taken to an open sided tent on the Botswana side of the river where our passports were checked and stamped. A game vehicle then collected us and we were taken to the camp. We spent three nights at the Muchenje Lodge in one of their 10 chalets. They have a very nice common area that over looks the Chobe River and have a nice watering hole underneath their lookout point where animals come to drink. Kathy and Rob are a lovely couple from Zim who run the place. They're very welcoming and do... more
