Premier Inn Waltham Abbey

My girlfriend and I spent a Saturday night here and were, for what we paid, very impressed with everything about the hotel. I have never stayed at a Premier Inn before but compared to other 'budget' hotels that I have stayed at this was head and shoulders above the rest. The check in staff were very friendly and helpful and... more

This was a nice hotel. Staff were pleasant, breakfast was good. We dined there for 3 nights, which was possibly too long (limited choice after a while). Food was quite expensive too. I couldn't fault the hotel, but it was rather impersonal fo rmy liking. more

This is a typical 80’s built business hotel, pretty inhuman and quite dull. The hotel is, in common with all Marriotts, spotlessly clean and all staff are knowledgeable and polite. Small rooms are standard and the high London prices Marriott charges make this a poor value choice. The hotel has just finished a major bedroom refurbishment and this has been... more

We prefer Marriotts and if you are looking for a hotel in this area, it is a dependable choice for this area (mind you the area's hotels are a bit down-level from London proper-type of hotels). The room was very nice , spacious and clean and the only issue is that they did not have the Marriott bed which is... more

Having only stayed in 2 Marriots before hand, i might not be in a position to comment on their overall standards but this one is definately not up to scratch.. Visited for a wedding. 1st impressions driving in; it looked like a retirement home, grounds not very well kept, long grass and it just looked upkempt. Check in was very... more

We have just returned from a weekend stay at the Marriot and we found the Hotel to be very good, We were 6 adults and a baby and had three bedrooms which were all very good and the staff at the Hotel were superb and would go out of there way to help us in everything we asked for and... more

This is not Marriott standard. The rooms are okay, and the beds are quite frankly great. However that is where it ends, the general facilities and level of service is far below what one would expect from a Marriott. In fact I have been staying here regularly for more than one year, and things are going downhill fast. The staff... more

We had our wedding here. Not the best place but not the worst. We had a lot of issues which we tried very hard to have resolved with the hotel. We would not have our wedding here if we could help it, mainly due to poorly trained, poorly informed and mainly poorly led staff. This is not what you want... more

This is part of the the Travel Inn chain, and as such is pretty much what you'd expect. Basic, but good standard room, great bed, shower like a fire hydrant etc etc. However, what raises this place above the average is the adjacent Baker's Arms pub. It provides the "breakfast" of the B&B side but is also a standalone pub/restaurant... more

Stayed at the hotel weekend of 22/24 June. Pupose of stay was a wedding in local Loughton. Hotel is large and well maintained. Room was lovely, huge beds, clean and very comfortable. Stayed there on a room only rate, enquired how much breakfast was and was £14.99 for a continental which i felt was far too expensive. Great location from... more

Stayed as part of a company do. The rooms were comfortable enough but the gym was dirty such that i didn't want to use the pool. The local staff were very unhelpful although the international staff were far more friendly and approachable. A dinner inclusive rate was negotiated by the company and we were told that dinner could be taken... more

I stayed here as part of a 3 day conference a couple of weeks ago. The hotel itself was clean and well kept. The rooms were quite big and maid service was regular. No bath robe, although promised on the website! Food was OK. It was buffet style because of the conference set up. Not good if you were a... more

I stayed at this hotel for business purposes and thought it was very good value for money. Rooms were large and comfortable, as I would have expected from the Marriott chain. Staff are extremely friendly and pleasant. I was disappointed with the restaurant though as there was little choice on the menu for vegetarians. Choice on the breakfast menu was... more

We stayed at the Premier Travel Inn Waltham Abbey at the end of July whilst visiting friends in Harlow. The Hotel was Immaculate in both decoration and cleanliness, it really couldn't be faulted! The room itself was like something out of the Ideal Home Exhibition. The staff were extremely helpful and very child friendly, value for money!!! NO COMPLAINTS HERE!!!... more

I usually stay closer to London but for business was up this way. I read the last comment left and was a bit nervous, but cannot agree on any of the comments. I was welcomed by a very friendly team after a nightmare journey on the M25 and when I arrived at my room was pleasantly surprised at the standard... more

Where to start? Despite calling reservations to check my booking before i left home, the reception had no reservation. It took ten minutes to check for our reservation which was stuck in a different system. When we finally got to our room, it was untidy and smelt of smoke, even though it was no smoking. I've stayed in many Marriotts... more

I was traveling with my wife, four kids, and my parents, so keep that in mind. We stayed here on the bookends of a trip to Rome. We mostly slept, but managed to use a few of the hotel amenities. The restaurant was nice, but very pricey. A full meal was about thirty pounds per person. We met a friend... more

Stayed here with work on a conference. Service levels were very good throughout the hotel, staff were very polite, helpful and in general veryproffessional. Rooms were clean and of average size. The decor is a little outdated, in particular the huge tv cabinet - something from the 80's!!!! One slight problem with the room was the water and the taps... more

Quite a while since I stayed here... used to be part of another chain, and was not too good at all then... as Marritt now own it, I was interested to find out what impact they had had. Car parking fine, plenty of it, and only exitable via code. Arrival was fine, despite a coach party arriving just before me,... more

Booked a two night break using an offer seen in a Sunday paper. Suited us as it was near friends we were visiting. The £100 we paid for 2 nights b&b we thought was excellent value. On the whole the the Hotel was fine if not really near anything except the M25. Rooms were ok, although we had a dreadful... more
