Our experience with the Memphis Downtown Doubletree was positive. The Doubletree is in the remodeled and expanded building of which the older part was, apparently, for many years the Tennessee Hotel that served downtown Memphis. We arrived after 11:00pm on a Saturday night. Our rooms were not ready! My wife and I stayed here for a long weekend. We were in town for the BBQ championship. I choose to stay here for the proximity to the tourist stuff. It is well within walking distance to Tom Lee Park, Beale Street, Civil Rights Museum, etc. They only things we drove to during our stay were Graceland and Sun Studios.... more
