We booked the Cedar Sands based upon its proximity to the Surfside Beach, and especially the beach view we requested and was promised via telephone, as shown in the website. We were traveling through and thought a night stay in Freeport would be nice. We read the reviews and didn't see many problems. The lobby looked clean and the manager was pleasant enough. Our rate was just over $60 and didn't expect much. We requested and received a non-smoking room on the second floor. My wife arrived in the room... more
