Brattleboro Super 8 Motel

3 of 5 stars
Canberra, Australia
Nov 17, 2008

About what I expected from a Super 8. A little expensive for what you get, but that's seems a given during leaf peeper season. Clean & comfortable enough - and NO sign of bed bugs as reported elsewhere. Friendly and efficient front desk service. Could have done without the guys watching football and slamming doors at 1am, but then you're... more

After all the great reviews here, we expected a great stay. We were very disappointed. We arranged with the owners in advance that we would be there at 2pm for checkin. We arrived promptly at 2pm in the rain. There was a car there, so we rang the doorbell. No answer. We knocked loudly on two different doors. Doorbell again.... more

If you want modern souless boutique- stay away from Latchis- but if you want an amazing experience in an Art Deco masterpiece- hurry to Latchis. We loved it from the minute we saw it. Yes, from the outside its obviously in need of some restoration and in our very large king room not all the windows opened- but dont let... more

Forty Putney Road Bed and Breakfast

Forty Putney Road Bed and Breakfast is one of a kind. The owners are always attentive to their guests, and interesting people in their own right. They have provided a number of amenities that you won't find in other B&B's such as the pool table and the bar. They have retained and improved upon the impressive character of their property.... more

Amy and Tim are a wonderful couple who are proving to be very gracious innkeepers. This B&B is full of history and if you inquire, Tim will provide you with as much information as you have time for. The decor is maintained in the era of which the house was built, and although it has modern conveniences, you experience that... more

Adagio Trattoria

I went to this place last night and the food was probably the best i have ever had. The wait staff was alright our server was either sick or just not in good mood. It was kinda disappointing. But overall the experience was good and i would love to go back there again. more

Alici's Bistro & Martini Bar

Nov 3, 2008

The problem with this restaurant is that there are 2 menus: casual and expensive. If you want to sit outside in the summer and you don't want to sit amongst smokers, your only option is the expensive menu. They won't serve you the "casual" (ie, CHEAPER) menu on the upper deck that is no smoking. That totally ticked me off,... more

We stayed at here four nights so we could be close to the Keene, NH Pumpkin Festival but not pay Keene prices. It was an excellent choice. The staff was friendly and accomodating. The room was clean and well stocked with linens. The hotel appears to be well insulated as our heater very seldom came on and heated the room... more

Forty Putney Road is an excellent b and b. We stayed there for a week and Amy managed to ensure there was a different breakfast treat every day! We got married whilst we were there (at Pumpkinfest in Keene, NH) and we really enjoyed the relaxed and happy atmpsphere which Tim and Amy have created for their guests. Everything was... more

This is a great B&B - beautiful house and grounds, warm hosts, scrumptious breakfasts. Tim and Amy think of everything, from books to borrow to free snacks in your room. And Brattleboro is easy to get to and has good restaurants and shopping. You will enjoy choosing Forty Putney! more

It was leaf-peeping season so we knew it would be difficult to find a place to stay. We stopped early and that was a good idea. We supposedly got the last room in a sixty mile radius. We checked in at 7:25 p.m. Since rooms were at a premium they gouged us quite a bit on price, $160.00 for a... more

Forty Putney Road is a short walk or drive from downtown Brattleboro. It is a beautifully restored, early 20th century building with a separate cottage suite in addition to the lovely rooms in the main structure. Another free standing building houses a relaxing hot tub adjoining the well maintained grounds with views of the lake/river. Breakfast is served in a... more

I just came back from this B&B and had a wonderful stay. My room was much larger compared to other B&Bs in which I have stayed and was beautifully appointed. The breakfast was top- notch and the location was a dream for people who enjoy walking and hiking. The innkeepers were kind yet professional and knowledgeable about the area. I... more

The four of us really needed "to get away"and this was the perfect location and time of year. The management was extremely pleasant and accomodating. The breakfasts were special, the pub was private and relaxing. The scenery in the area is breathtaking with a variety of food eateries. I don't know what else to say except we had our "reward... more

A prior poster said there were bedbugs and that they didn't want to pay and that they called the police about it. It was an interesting post. I would have never thought to call the police about bed bugs. It was also interesting that the manager took the post so seriously. I guess these TripAdvisor posts matter. My opinion on... more

I recently stayed in Brattleboro for 1 night with my partner, on our recent trip around Europe & the USA. It was the end of the summer season & cooling off a little, but we were still able to visit a lot of the town & surrounding areas, & enjoyed ourselves a great deal. We booked our accommodation via the... more

The inn and grounds are elegant but not at all pretentious. Tim and Amy are warm and charming, and Amy's breakfasts are amazing. The pub is a nice touch; the location superb. We couldn't have had a better experience. more

This really is a superb place to stay. The innkeepers have thoughtfully planned and designed their B&B to include every comfort for their guests. The gourmet breakfasts were a great start to each day and a drink in the bar a very good end! Friendly and helpful hosts and good location. more

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at Forty Putney. We stayed at two other B&B's along the way during an anniversary trip to New England and were the most pleased with our stay at Forty Putney for several reasons: --Little touches like free snacks, water, movie rentals, organic towels, robes --Excellent breakfasts with accomodations to food preferences/allergies --Happy Hour -- we... more
