After reading some of the negative reviews, I would like to put some of those points into the correct perspective and share my experience: - "No hot water in room?" - Actually, you can get extremely hot water in your cabin. Some of the cabins were built over 70 years ago and get their water from a central boiler. So... more

It is a must to visit, totally different than the south rim. Little more rugid. Much quieter and more in touch with mother nature. The views are spectacular. On our drive into the park we saw buffalo and a coyote. more

More rustic, rugid, rough, wildlife, and less people. All together this equals a fantastic Grand Canyon experience, yes there are more tourist attractions on the South Rim but don't forget the Canyon is the reason why you are there. The views are spectacular, you are around 2000mts higher on the North Rim with the sun shining onto the Canyon from... more

Last year, we stayed at the 'motel' inside the park at the South Rim and had a great experience, so we figured a motel room, in the park, at the North Rim would be similar. We couldn't have been more wrong. North Rim is great, but so much smaller, so choices are limited. Only lodging is inside the park and... more

We were prepared for the rustic accomodations at the north rim by my mom, who had been there previously and wanted to make sure we were ready for it. It was way better than we expected. We had both sides of two duplex rim view pioneer cabins, so hearing the neighbors snore wasn't an issue for us :) We had... more

As mentioned in other reviews this is your only hotel option if you go to the north rim. We had a cabin. Upon arrival we had to wait in a huge line to check in. And when our turn came up, the closed one of the two desks even though there was still a huge waiting line. After receiving our... more

The extra hours spent driving to the North Rim are well worth it: beautiful views enroute from the Page, AZ area, of the Vermillion Cliffs, much better views (in my opinion) than from the South Rim: and MUCH less populated. Not at all crowded and almost a sense of being there together: as on a ship or at a camp.... more

Not much more one can say about the beauty and peaceful nature of the North Rim. My wife and I have been back 3 times. We recently spent 6 days at the Rim in a cabin overlooking the canyon from June 21st, throught June 26, 2008. With a 180 degree view from our rustic cabin, it was an unbelievable setting... more

Few locations on earth can compare with the splendor of Arizona's Grand Canyon. And for a more relaxed and less hassled way (compared to the South Rim) to experience the Canyon, the North Rim (GCNR) is the answer. Due to the 8600 feet average altitude with deep winter snows, the GCNR is only open from mid May until mid October... more

We stayed one night in a motel room at the lodge, it was reasonably comfortable but the facilities were basic. Dinner in the dining room was very disappointing (and expensive) and there was very little choice for breakfast at the deli. The beauty and solitude of the north rim more than made up for the deficiencies of the accommodation. Even... more
