Make the time to drive Old Fall River Road for a different scenic way to see the park. We were here for 2 days, so it wasn't a problem getting this in our agenda. It's more of an intimate way to see the park, when compared to the busy Trail Ridge Road. This is a good dirt road that is... more

A great winter hike. Bring snow shoes and or boot chains. Extremely peaceful and the slow walking pace gives you time to notice the beauty that surrounds you. more

We drove the road because of the reviews here but were totally disappointed. The road ascends for 3 paved and then 9 unpaved miles to Alpine Visitor Center, which can also be reached by the main road. The unpaved part is quite easy to drive and was no challenge for our Chevy Impala. The problem is that the view along... more

A terrific detour off of Trail Ridge Road. Jeep Grand Cherokee and a mini van had no problems on the road. There are restrictions - Max 25' vehicle, no trailers, etc. Open only after the snow melt, often not until July.
