This is great little spot to check out if you have some extra time in Nassau. Kids would love this outing! The marching flamingos are worth watching - I was lucky enough to enter the ring and get surrounded by these sweet and curious birds. The show runs three times a day at 1000, 1400 and 1600. We spent about... more

I have three children ages 3, 6 and 9. They all love visiting Ardastra Gardens. It is a nice way to get some relief from the sun and let the kids run around. Be sure to see the Marching Flamingos they only perform twice a day so check the schedule. more

Ardastra Gardens is a combination botanical garden and exotic animal zoo. You can hand feed the lory parrots several times a day as well as mingle with the famous marching flamingos. It is incredibly inexpensive for what you are able to see and do. If you pop into a local hotel for a Nassau map you may even find a... more

if you have multiple days on the island and are tired of beach activities, this is a decent alternative. do not plan your vacation around this.... its small, they have mostly birds, and the flamingo show is lame. you can tackle this attraction in 30 minutes. the only good part is how close you get to the animals compared to... more

Our family was traveling on the Disney Wonder and had one day in Nassau. This was a family reunion of sorts for us, my parents, their 6 adult children, and 2 grandchildren (our ages range from 10 to 76). Everything was just perfect for us. We really enjoyed our afternoon at Ardastra Gardens, it was a very hot day but... more

Been to Nassau via cruise ship 3 times before, and wanted to do something different for our 4th trip to this port. Did some research on Ardastra Gardens and am very glad we chose to come here! As others have done, for $1 per person each way, we took the local #10A jitney bus out of town and it dropped... more

We just visited the Zoo 5/9/07. It was very pretty. We took the #10 bus and was dropped off in front of the Fish Fry. Then we took the little walk to the entrance. The admission was $12 per person. The zoo had lots of birds, and some very uncommon animals. The security on the animals wasn't to my standards... more

Ardastra was the highlight of my recent trip to Nassau. We took the bus to Arawak Cay and then walked the few blocks to the zoo. Admission was $12 per person and was worth every penny. The exhibits were amazing - jaguars, capybaras, prairie dogs, monkeys, iguanas, every kind of parrot imaginable! There were peacocks and peahens wandering freely about... more

This is a cute little zoo, with a great collection of parrots and macaws. It is definitely small and although the enclosures for the jaguars aren't what we normally expect to see in the USA, it's not terrible either. The birds are really the main draw here and they are lovely. You can feed Lory parrots and see peacocks, various... more
