We loved the gran cenote when we were there in February. However I jumped off of the dock just to the right of the ladder! There is a very large rock about a foot below the surface. I cut my leg open to the tibia! Fortunately our guide Lemuel took me to an OK clinic in Tulum! When you are... more

We went to the Gran Cenote in March 2008 to snorkel when it was too windy to swim in the ocean. Cab ride from Akumal was $25 each way so we would rent a car the next time. As someone else said, make sure to schedule the return trip or you will be waiting forever if you take a cab.... more

Nothing else to say but Amazing. Extremely cheap and perfect place just to cool off. You can rent anything you need right there and unlike alot of the other cenotes, they do have bathrooms. One note: buy an underwater disposable camera before you go, as this is def. a place you'll love to use it. There is a dock that... more

We spent 12 days on on the yucutan and did a lot of snorkelling in Cenotes. Gran cenotes certainly wasnt the biggest or underground but it was definately our favourite. We got there just as it opened and had it to ourselves for 30 mins, it was so beautiful and peaceful and we managed to see the terrapin which swam... more

We went to Grand Cenote on Oct. 4, 2007. The entrance fee was $8 per person. That had bathrooms to change in and snorkel equipment to rent.
