Everyone in our party (4 adults) loved this place. I'm not big on museums, but this place wowed me. It wasn't the usual 'wow' of having lots and lots of quantity, but the quality and presentation. The lighting alone was noticeably fantastic. I've never before felt moved by totem poles...they've been interesting, amazing, intriguing, but I never really felt the... more

The Royal British Columbia Museum is a world-class collection of wildlife, First Nations artifacts, and other materials pertaining to British Columbia. Still, the exhibits suffer from organizational problems and some need to be updated. The Museum exhibits are located on the second and third floors. First, the natural history exhibits include fossils from prehistoric BC, wildlife, and a new ocean... more

We'd heard the Royal BC Musuem was one of the best in the world, and it's true. We planned for about an hour to check out the exhibits; we didn't leave until almost three hours later. Every single exhibit is so well-done, so visually appealing and so interesting to both children and adults. The range is amazing: from a gold... more

Their collection is mesmerizing. Beautiful collection with variety and depth. Particularly liked the masks combined with storytelling exhibit. Gift shop left much to be desired, though. I wanted to buy a souvenir, but couldn't find anything of quality. I left without buying anything. more

A HUGE and AMAZING museum. Loved the Prehistorical part and the last part had the old road, building, cars and theater where you can actually go in and look at the bedrooms and stuff! Great fun to go! When you get to the part where the mines are, you get to see if you can get some gold (you don't... more

The Royal BC museum at the time of my visit was staging an excellent exhibition on the Titanic. You were given a boarding pass of a passenger and then went round the exhibition and at the end you could look at the list of survivors and see if you were amongst them. There was a large slb of ice to... more

We enjoyed the Royal BC Museum. The Titanic exhibit was really interesting. It was nice that the museum was open until 10pm. That gave us time to linger. more

I have been to this museum many times, as I grew up on the Island, but I haven't been back for many years. I have always found the museum displays and layout to be excellent and this visit was no exception. Seeing Century Hall and the First Nations' displays was like visiting old friends! I also found a number of... more

We went to the Museum to see the Titanic exhibit that runs from April to Oct. With all the hype we were expecting a lot more.It seems that the exhibit is split up there doesn't seem to be a lot of artifacts on display. It is nicely presented but light on the artifacts .It is very crowded and busy. So make... more

We had seen good reviews of the collections but nothing prepared us for how much there was to see and do! We got there shortly after opening, and the girl on the cash desk advised us to visit the interactive side first before it got busy. So we started off with an ecology-based round of minigolf (no extra charge, open... more
