A favorite that the kids (and frankly, Mom and Dad) look forward to on every visit to Victoria. Very close/easy walk from just about anywhere. The bugs are just amazing -- exotic, weird, alien... Although we had no kids to bring with us, being a bug fanatic I thought I would check out the Bug Zoo while in downtown Victoria. I dun like crawly things....but it was very VERY interesting to see insects sooo close but knowing that you are safe. A smaller attraction but very interesting, the staff are very knowledgeable. They let you hold some of the creatures which is very cool. Various, spiders, scorpions and stick insects, millipeades. This is the best attraction in Victoria in my opinion. more

The Bug Zoo doesn't look like much when you first go in but then you get to hold some of the critters and it is really cool. The guides are very patient with the kids and eager to answer questions you may have. more

We took our two grandsons, ages 8 and 9 to explore the bug world and had as much or more fun than they did. Even Grandma provided her face for a "millipede mustache." This is a small "zoo", like 1,000 sf room...but wow they have so much information. Our 6 and 2 year olds enjoyed browsing the exhibits and my husband and I found ourselves glued to the tour given by a "live" human. The two gals working were a fountain of knowledge and we enjoyed every bit of it! more

We took our three daughters here spring break of 2002 then aged 8,10,12. The university students that they have to tour you through each and every bug display were very informative and fun. Mind you, you don't have to hang out with the guides if you don't want. But I would highly recommend it even if you have to wait... more
