This is hardly to be ranked with the Kinder round, or walking to Macchu Picchu , but some stretches are tougher than you would expect. Sheffield hills were always steep. So don't expect a park stroll in sandals. I walked it, in stages, with full walk to start points, in afternoon strolls, with side trips, from S8. My reason was... more

I've lived in Sheffield for 30 years. I've driven around and (occasionally!) taken the bus to get from A to B or C. I've walked and jogged along the main roads from Totley to Meadowhall. The Round Walk really is lovely, and well worth doing, but I'd offer some advice. Get a map or guide book from the Tourist Office or a newsagent. There are signposts but they're not frequent and certainly not reliable. If you take a generic map of Sheffield, make sure the Round Walk is marked. I didn't the first time, and... more

We found the round walk very interesting, it did help with taking a book on the subject which was bought at our local newsagent. The walk tended to follow the streams throughout the parks. It was lovely to watch the squirrels in the lovely woodlands which amazed us because they stretched for miles.(the woods I mean not the squirrels) Today... more
