I have been to this museum twice now and find it a fascinating insight into jewellery making. The museum is housed in an old jewllery making factory, which was deserted one day, with all the bits left behind. It is great to see how life was like for the jewellery maker and that every tiny dust like particle of gold... more

Small family run jewellery factory, the museum is a time capsule of the factory contents and reveals the day to day running of the business which closed in 1981. The museum is fantastic, the guides are very skilled, informed and enthusiastic. You walk around the various parts of the 80 year old firm of Smith and Pepper, in Birmingham's jewellery... more

This place is a walk through time capsule. Left virtually unchanged since the doors closed for business back in 1981. Even then it was a museum piece. more

If you like history or nostalga this is the place for you. It's like stepping back in time into an old jewellery manufacturer. The museum was once a family buisness which has been left as it was in the 1900. The tour was very informative and well done. It was also free! more
