With all there is to see in Ireland, we probably would not have gone to the Castle, if we had not been booked into Blarney by our tour company on a driving tour of Ireland. However, we did find it interesting enough to explore and spend a few hours there. The entrance fee of 10 euros was pretty pricey, but... more

Want to kiss the Blarney Stone? Gotta go to Blarney Castle in Cork, Ireland, climb up to the top, and bend over backwards!! Only then will you, like the rest of us countless gullibles, receive the gift of gab, "eloquence". (Personally, I felt it was worthwhile-- now no one can shut me up!) Even if you can't get up to... more

With the reputation of the Blarney Stone, this attraction could have been cheesy...we were pleasantly surprised with the lack of crowds (I hear we got a bit lucky here) and the picturesque grounds with lots of areas to explore. The castle is just the skeleton of what it used to be. You climb up a narrow staircase to kiss the... more

August '08. We visited Blarney. Did the woolen mills... nice stuff. The shop next to the supermarket had similar stuff but some items were nicer. We did the soveniers shed near the castle gates. Again, somehow they've managed to be that bit different to the other two. Then we went for the castle itself. We never expected the price to... more

I expected this place to be a big tourist trap. Instead, was left with many memories. The walk to the castle is along a little path, after a entrance fee of course. The castle itself is fairly high and a bit of a hike to the top to kiss the stone. What makes this fantastic is the view of the... more

Having made the effort , i fail to see what all the fuss is about . After queuing for a fair bit , you have to go all the way up loads of narrow steep steps to to the top - which the views are good - to kiss a very small piece of stone round the far side .... more

It was raining when we got to blarney so we stopped at a Pub for lunch. Great food yet the staff was not as great. It took awhile to get waited on, then again to get refills. The Blarney Castle is another tourist spot and busy yet it was worth it. Since it was just done raining the lines were... more

Blarney Castle...I don't even know where to start. It was SO amazing. First, wear sneakers. We did way more walking and climbing than we thought we would. When you first pull into the parking lot, you see the gate and realize that this is going to be very touristy and we weren't sure we even wanted to go. The admission... more

My husband and I truly enjoyed this castle. The ruin rooms are labeled and gives interesting details. While you don't have to kiss the stone, the view from the roof is grand! We also enjoyed the garden's extras! The Witches's Kitchen was rather "interesting" . . . It is a bit pricey but I felt this was worthy it! more

Blarney Castle is such a jewel! Not the biggest, or best preserved castle that I've been to, but the setting alone is enough to draw you to it. Besides, who could resist a chance to kiss the famous Blarney Stone?? The Blarney Stone is located at the very top of the castle and one must climb a steep, narrow, winding... more
