I'm not a great history buff by any means. I did read up on some Irish history before our trip but I am a rather reluctant student when it comes to history - it's often just too dry for me. But this tour personalized what was such an important event in Ireland's history in a way that completely captured my... more

Please do this tour. Of course, do it for the history lesson that is the 1916 rebellion. But do it mainly to see the clever performance of it's tour guide named Lorcan. He wrote the book on the subject so he knows it well. His point of view on the matter is insightful, opinionated, and great entertainment. You will walk... more

I have to agree with other reviewers, this is a really great walking tour. Lorcan, the guide, is a mine of information about Irish history and his passion and enthusiasm for the subject is obvious. This is a great way to spend a couple of hours, the walk goes at a steady pace and there are plenty of laughs along... more

I have visited Dublin multiple times and have been to all the major tourist attractions, and this tour is by far my favorite thing I have done. Lorcan, our tour guide, was absolutely fantastic. He is a walking encyclopedia of Irish history and very captivating as well. He gladly answered all of our questions and made sure we understood the... more

There is no doubt that this tour should be on everyone's list in Dublin-----visitor and resident alike. Lorcan takes a complex subject and brings it to life and everyone on the tour leaves with a greater appreciation of the times and the people. There is no better way to learn the story of the Easter Rising in 1916, and no... more

Second time to take the tour. Could do it every year as there is so much to take in. It's a must-do for natives & tourists alike. Get the comfy shoes on and enjoy 2 hrs of history brought alive & presented in the most enjoyable & engaging way. Our guide (Locan Collins both times) knows his stuff & his... more

Lorcan Collins is your host for a two-hour tour of the locations relevant to the 1916 Easter Uprising in Dublin. Starting at the International Bar, a few blocks from Trinity College, Lorcan led us on a spellbinding, passionate and amusing couple of hours exploring the roots of the Irish independence movement. Lorcan weaves a heroic tale of a hopeless (and... more

I don't know if I've ever seen as much energy and emotion coming from a tour guide. Lorcan was really something else. I was saddened to say goodbye to the man- This directly from my recent travel journal: Grabbed a couple of Lattes, and headed for the International House Pub for our 1916 REBELLION TOUR. This was probably the highlight... more

This tour really brings home the biggest event in the history of modern Ireland. Lorcan gave us a great understanding of what went on during that violent Easter week, and his line of chat and jokes epitomized the friendly, loquacious, and just plain fun people of Ireland for me. Nobody should go to Dublin without going on this tour. more

Advertised as a 2 hour tour, the one we went on only lasted 1 hour 40 minutes, and the last 5 minutes were spent listening to American tourists questioning the guide on his views over the forthcoming European treaty vote. Enjoyed the tour but the unused time could have been used visiting another site of the uprising, eg Shelbourne Hotel,... more
