I have now been based in Limerick for around two and a half years. Not long ago I brought my father and my grandmother who was visiting from Wales to King John's Castle. I visited St. John's Castle about two weeks ago and am glad I went. There isn't much of the castle itself to see; generally about 5 or 6 dim stone rooms facing a central courtyard. They do a good job of including historical text in each room and have prop recreations as well. You can climb the stairs and walk... more
