The Jephson Gardens are lovely. Not the largest in the world, but really central so just short walk from the main shopping centre. Go to the glass house to take a look at the exotic plants and then stay for lunch or afternoon tea in the attached restaurant. They have some lovely tables overlooking the river and the wier.
