We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Hidcote Manor Garden -- especially the different types of gardens found there. We would go back again in a heartbeat! more

So disappointed...Hidcote was closed midweek. A sign on th the main road to that effect would have been helpful and saved us unnecessary travel in trying to get to the place! I so wanted to see this garden, reputedly one of the most lovely in England...so I guess I will have to save it for another trip!! :) more

Hidcore was designed by the American Major Lawrence Johnston as a series of 'rooms' leading into eachother. The varied styles and characters of the rooms peak at different times of the year. Each room is in a different style; cottagey, formal; green and topiaried; terraced etc.. The prime season is early summer when the Roses and Philadelphus are in flower... more
