Sorry, it really didn't work for me. A huge ugly architectural monstrosity with very little to see. The inside is apparently difficult to get around, with uneven floors and concealed entrances, so that people don't feel "comfortable" when thinking about war. I had great anticipation of visiting this museum, but I was VERY disappointed. The only saving grace was the free admission and the walk there across the bridge from The Lowry. Yes. it is an exciting building with excellent facilities and superb views. However, the Museum must surely be judged on its content and it has to be said that this is seriously lacking. The exhibits are almost all small items of equipment, uniform, old photographs and bits of bric-a-brac such as can be seen in most towns in the country.... more
