I was fortunate enough to qualify for a "young" persons discount. I'm 26 and it cost me 3.50 euros! Well worth going. A long walk through dark underground tunnels until you reach the entrance to the catacombs. Lit by electric now, but you can't help thinking how eery it must have been in the days before electricity!!! more

It's hard to imagine when you're down in the catacombs that this is just the smallest slice of the old quarry tunnels that spider below Paris. It is a bit creepy to see real human remains stacked up and arranged in such a way and to be that close to them. Pretty much the entire walk is all just bones as you can see in people's photographs.
