I'm not a wine expert, but I'd never heard of Alicante Bouschet until I visited Vinden Wines. They're the smallest winery in the Hunter Valley, producing just 3500 bottles a year (or so I'm told), but the welcome was warm and the wines tasted great even if it was 11am!
