We booked this trip as part of our honeymoon. The vast majority of reviews are right - this is a must-do and is unlike anything else you will probably ever experience in your life. Originally we had trouble booking a reservation for the event, even though it was at least two months in advance. Thankfully, a fairly new UK-based website... more

During our recent trip to Australia, my husband and I spent a few days exploring Ulura and the Olgas. We spent one of the evenings at the Sounds of Silence dinner. It begins with a breathtaking view of Uluru and the Olgas as the sun sets and gracious staff serving drinks and canapes. Afterwards, the staff leads you to a... more

A lovely evening! Champagne & canapes( crocodile amongst other things!) in the desert watching the sun set over the Olgas and Ayers Rock. You have a lovely meal under the stars with a digeridoo player and an astrologer showing you the stars - food and table service was restaurant quality, the only bad thing was the hotplates are lit so... more

This is the second time I have experienced the Sounds of Silence. My first time, five years ago, was more memorable than the most recent time. I consider Uluru and the surrounding landscape to be spectacular and a truly unique Australian experience - even for us Australians (it is so unique). However; whilst this dinner could be a very special... more

I agree entirely with the review " Good Fun" below and likewise were concerned about the mixed reviews. We needn't of worried as it was the high spot of our Ayers Rock stay....but you have to be lucky for the clear sky for the astronomy and from the other reviews hope there are no massive group bookings who take too... more

I'd read mixed reviews about this but it was recommended by some true Australians so we booked a place. It was amazing and I would recommend this if you go to Uluru. The arrivak was perfect, the sun going down, a man playing a digeridoo and a glass of bubbly - how lovely. We all sat down, on table for... more

We booked the SOS dinner from the tour desk at Outback Pioneer Hotel. The tickets were sold out for the day that we checked into the hotel and managed to get the tickets for next day. The weather in Uluru was not great during our visit in early December 2007 due to the effects of a low pressure system in... more

Whilst I'm gald we did do the Sounds of Silence dinner, I wouldn't do it again! The inital part of the evening is great; you watch the sun go down, eating canopes, having a drink or two, mingling, and listening to a very good didge musician (who was keen to tell everyone his life story and personal opinions on the... more

How I agree with the previous two reviews. This was our only one bad experience in Oz - the rest of our time was fabulous. We couldn't wait to get back to the hotel. Bugs all over the food and drunken companions at the table - ugh! Australia is a great country. Ayres Rock is majestic and the desert surroundings... more

This was supposed to be a romantic evening for my husband and I - what a farce! The cocktails, canapes and digiridoo were fine. The problems started once we went to the dining area. As soon as the sun started going down the bugs came out. And I do mean BUGS. There were insects or all persuasions crawling into our... more
