We are locals and had a birthday party for our little "Princess" (yeah, right..) and about a dozen of her little "Princess" mates..(ditto) at the Zoo in late October. Enjoyed my visit despite nearly being chased by a Cassowary papa that didn't appreciate me photographing his chicks close up! Animals seem to be well cared for and in good condition. Proof - the cockatoos don't leave even though they can fly away at any time. more

An expensive waste of time. This was a birthday treat for our now one year old while on holiday in Cairns but it was pretty disappointing. She wasn't fussed until she got to stand next to a kangaroo but unfortunately the ground was too wet and dirty (roo poo) to let her crawl around on her own whim. My opinion... more

Even though we'd seen koalas, kangaroos & birds up in Kuranda, we enjoyed the presentations on the snakes, birds, crocodiles & especially the Red Pandas. I didn't think anything could be cuter than a koala, but the red pandas stole my heart! We had a nice lunch (they ran out of bread for sandwiches) at the restaurant on the premises.... more

We were5 adults, who visited the zoo on October 15th. What a wonderful evening we had. The BBQ the staff and of course the animals, gave us so much pleasure, we are back in UK and still talking about it. Thanks to all for a great night. more
