My boyf and I walked to the Grand Palace from our hotel (Royal Bangkok Hotel) which took approx. 15minutes. We didn't experience the scam artists that we had been warned about like some people have. We got there at 9.30am and there were quite a lot of people there already, but we managed to get our tickets quickly. There is... more

A couple tips if you go to the Grand Palace. 1) Beware of people telling you that it's closed - it's a scam. See the other review about this. The palace is open every day of the week - all day and to everyone. 2) you can where shorts or skirts there. However, once inside you will need to cover.... more

There are scam artists working around the walls of the palace grounds - and these walls are almost 1/2 mile long on each side, who will stop an obvious foreigner to tell you that the palace... more

Don't believe people who say that the Grand Palace is closed that day because of a religious holiday. Search for the entrance (there's a large board that says beware of wily strangers. That's the one) or just walk around till you find it. We found guards blocking our way at two gates when a man walked up to us, said... more

Grand palace is a must see words do not justify the sheer size and the richness of the arhitecture surrounding it. It is a great photo opportunity so make sure your camera is fully charged! and you can cover three main attractions What Po (which is behind the grand palace) and Wat Arun which is accross the river on the... more

Whenever I go to Bangkok I always go to the Grand Palace. OK you have to wear long trousers in the tropical heat but the sights make it worthwhile. By the way, you can't wear jeans, three quarter lengths, track suits plus a couple of other things (don't worry, you can hire clothes if you turn up in jeans etc).... more
