For most people this is probably how NOT to visit the Pyramids. The Giza plateau is a fantastic place to visit. Just being there and taking in the atmosphere of this historic site is worth the trip never mind a tour guide. It is a desert scene decorated with the majestic pyramids - three big ones and three small ones.... more

I got such a good deal using Maxim Tours & Travel Egypt that I got a little nervous thinking something would go wrong. I wanted to post this so that anyone looking around could get a first hand account of the experience. Maxim Tours have taken very good care of us They have offices all over Egypt with very professional... more

Wow...the Pyramids...One of the most beautiful and breathtaking wonders of the world, I couldn’t believe I was actually touching the pyramids. It was the best experience and would say glad that I did go. You cannot go to Egypt and not see the pyramids; these fascinating structures just had so much history and went back thousands of years! And for... more

I visited the pyramids last week. Firstly we arrived here by taxi from Giza train station and it took us straight to a tin pot tourist office which we later realised was scam. We were told that there was no vehicular access to the pyramids and that the only way up there was on camel or horse back. After a... more

Our family had the opportunity to travel to Egypt in June 2008 where myself and and my husband and our three children ages 11, 13, 15 had an absoute wonderful time!! We stayed at the Intercontential (Holiday Inn) In Giza. The Hotel was not really in a location where we could venture out, but our guide picked us up every... more

The Pyramids at Giza were spectacular to behold. Pictures cannot show how massive they are. We went into the 2nd pyramid, smaller than the main pyramid. You have to crouch all the way through it which is uncomfortable, hot and very claustrophobic. It was worth going through it, but once was enough on this one. We stopped to pet a... more

We've just back from our vacation. A day of it was going to the Pyramids & Sphinx. First of all, you do not want to do this on your own. Go with a tour. When you get to the pyramids, there are quite a few street vendors that will come up to you constantly and try to sell you their... more

Young children, approx eight years old are being used to sell goods, it is difficult for us Westerners to refuse children, in good faith I gave one pens pencils and sweets, I wanted nothing from him, he kept shoving an Arab headress in my bag saying gift, I did not want it, and kept giving it back to him, my... more

I returned only hours ago from a week in Giza at Movenpick Pyramids Resort, and felt I just had to put down the feelings of my wife and myself about how our time at the Pyramids on day one of our trip tainted our feelings for the rest of Cairo and the week as a whole. I'd read the general... more

I was so excited to see the pyramids and we travelled overnight from sharm el sheik for the experience. It is magical when you get there and we have amazing pictures from it. However, can I just warn you that there is an amazing amount of buses, tourists and locals etc at the site. I did not expect this at... more
