This is a new museum, with innovative arrangement of exhibits. Unlike the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, this is smaller, exhibiting less artifacts, but in a very comprehensive and educative way. It's a very nice overview of the long Thebes history from the Old Kingdom until Coptic christianity. Highly recommended more

We thought this was a bit expensive relative to the cost of admission to Luxor Temple and Karnak Temple (it was around £8 each). Plus, we were annoyed by the staff's attitude straight away! We arrived at just after 2pm and went in. Having handed over our tickets and had them ripped, only then were we informed the museum closes... more
