If you are a nut for historical sites, if you love the Pyramids, Machu Picchu, Chichen Itzen, Stonehenge, The Great Wall Of China, or love wondering around big churches and temples, you have to see the Angkor temples. Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom (Bayon, Baphuon), Baentey Srey, Ta Phrom, are all worth a visit. All of these major temples will blow... more

I'm not one to join a group tour, but if you're headed for Cambodia to see Angkor Wat, I HIGHLY reccommend going with a tour. Avoid local places. Stick to the tourist areas. Don't trust the ice, produce and you know all that. Fly in and fly out. Overland from Bangkok took us 13 hours, with a broken down van... more

My husband and I just returned from 5 days in Siem Reap. I am a nut when it comes to historic spots and love to spend hours in ruins and museums. My husband, not so much. Siem Reap was a great place for us. Best way to see the ruins is by tuk tuk. Really gives you a feel for... more

WHAT TO DO AT ANGKOR AND SIEM REAP. 1. You need at least a minimum of 3 nights stay at Siem Reap to see all the main temples. 2. Firstly, get a really good guide. Mine was recommended by Mike and her name was Soluy Loert (you can see his recommendation here in tripadviser too). Soluy packed in a 3... more

If you are travelling in Asia, Ankor Wat Temples in Cambodia is one of the "must see" locations. The 7 hours journey by bus on a bumpy road from the capital is well worth it when you see the sunrise at 5am from one of the temples. It just takes 3 days from your trip to Vietnam or Thailand to... more

If you are going to Southeast Asia, you cannot miss the Angkor. It is located about 30 minutes from Siem Reap. You can get a cheap plane ticket from Bangkok, Manila, or Hanoi. I flew from Bangkok for about 200-300 dollars. Angkor is the most amazing temple I've ever been to. You're cheating yourself if you pass on this one.... more

Weather is coolest in the early morning and hottest from noon till 5pm. You can visit Angkor Wat from 5.30am onwards. You need to... more

For an unforgettable, personalized tour of the ruins and must see temples and sites of Siem Reap, we found what we think is the best professionally trained and certified tour guide available. Soluy Loeut. She was the finalist after extensive research and personal interviews. She can be reached at [--] Although you probably won't duplicate our exact experience, I am... more

Angkor Wat was really beautifull, the weather was nice, the ruins very tranquilizing, there was a cambodian girl, 4-years old, at the coffee shop singing to us in cambodian, very nice...
