Our higlight of Jaipur was the Amber Palace tour. One of the few sites where we hired a guide, and think was a smart move. Rode the elephant up and found that fun, especially with the young musical entrepreneur accompanying us. The craftsmanship and design of the historic fort/palace is absolutely amazing. The fort is located just outside Jaipur. It is a very impressive set of buildings and as you approach it is possible to see the elephants carrying tourists up to the entrance. We took a car up after hearing that the elephants are not well treated, but recent changes mean that the number of trips an elephant can do each... more

The Amber Fort and Palace near Jaipur is surely a visit worth. The fort is placed in the mountains and there are two ways to get there (if you do not want to go). Either by a jeep or by elephant both can be arranged in Amber City. The elephant is preferable (and not that expensive) and you get to... more
