I spent a very pleasant late June morning in these gardens which are known for extensive camellia plantings. Even though just a few of the camellias remained, the gardens were full of blooming roses, perennials, and other flowering plants. I spent a morning at the Descanso Gardens in early April 2008 for the first time. The gardens are very close to Pasadena, a half hour from downtown LA.
