The English who read this review, and many do, will understand the reference to Wisley, the preeminent gardens in England to which we belonged for decades before good sense brought us to live in Florida to escape the crowds , the gray, and the taxes. We did not know Florida had such gardening beauty. Huge estate with wide variety of... more

Fairchild Garden is a must see for plant lovers. Plan to spend the whole day there, bring plenty of water and wear comfortable walking shoes. You’ll be blown away by the size of this place and by the variety of specimens. It’s absolutely a gardener’s paradise and well worth the admission price. more

Our family visited the Mango fastival at Farichild Gardens Saturday July 14th. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express off of 286, which is about a 35 minute ride to the gardens. The gardens are off of Old Cutler Road in the more mature area of Miami. By mature I mean old growth Mango trees, Spanish style homes, and beautiful... more

I was pleasantly shocked as to how wonderful the fairchild tropical gardens were. As a lover of flowers, I was thoroughly impressed with their collection, especially the plethora of heliconias sprinkled across the gardens. It's a great place to take kids, but make sure you bring an umbrella. It showered on us for 2 hours!! more

Recently,I had the privilege of spending a day at the Fairchild Botanical Gardens. Like our reviewer from Winnepeg,I loved the things I saw. Their collection of tropical vegetation is outstanding, especially its collection of palm trees and cycads. My favorite plant there is the red wax palm tree from Malaysia. I also appreciated their great Dale Chihuly Glass Art exhibits such... more

There are some areas that seemed to be still under development that will probably improve with time, but much of this park is everything a botanical garden should be. There was an art installation by Dale Chihuly when we visited, and it blended perfectly with the landscape. Fairchild Gardens is definately worth seeing. more

This is really an attraction not to be missed. They were just starting to set up the Chihuly exhibit when I was there last week. ( It officially opens at the beginning of December.) When they have up all the glass scultures, I'm sure it will be amazing. There are so many plants to see, and much wildlife living there... more

My brother and I just visited Fairchild Gardens in September 2004. What a beautiful place...the website does not show how wonderful this garden is. When you arrive and park you know you are about to visit a special place. The Palm garden is excellent with many diffrent types of rare palms. There are also neat displays of Catus. There are... more
