We visited the Florida botanical gardens during our trip to Florida in August. We were not sure if it was the drought conditions in Florida or just a lack of care, but the gardens were not well kept and many plants were dead or dying. While visiting at Christmas, we visited these gardens outside of St. Pete. It is also part of Heritage Village, a gem of a restoration of Florida early architecture. You need a whole day to visit both, they are FREE! The gardens were superb, well maintained and clearly marked. A joy for the eyes and spirit. I would recommend this for... more
