The Shedd Aquarium is very nice, and the views are exceptional inside the building, and outside in the museum campus. The variety and amount of tanks is very good, but can be a little dark at times. Overall, a good time for a family. more

Disappointed in the Aquarium. The "Dolphin Show" was completely disorganized. There were three groups of dolphins doing various things, but hard to figure out which one to watch. Most of the "show" was an aquarium worker talking through the program. For the $$$, you're better off in the Baltimore Aquarium. more

This aquarium is amazing. We have been to several aquariums and this one is unique. The layout is wonderful with exciting exhibits. The dolphin show is very good and the shark exhibit is awesome. We had a great time at the Shedd Aquarium. Admission was included with our GoChicago Card and I'm thrilled that we went. There was a feeding and dive going on in the Caribbean Reef and was beyond interesting to watch and listen to. The dolphin show was great. Really enjoyed the penguins. My husband and I took our 2 1/2 year old son to the Shedd Aquarium this afternoon. Besides driving over 3 hous to get there, not finding our way easily with everything happening downtown, "the taste of chicago", all major roads were blocked and we're not from around there so we were very frustrated. I'm a big fan of aquariums and have been to almost every large scale aquarium in the country. I would have to say that the Shedd aquarium ranks high on the list, mostly for the variety of species it has, including beluga whales. Shedd Aquarium is very interesting, and very good for childeren. I've been there so many times, that it's now boring to me. It's also not the cheapest but it's really cool to see there exhibts.
