I also thought that it would be a waste of time. They all proved me wrong. Everyone was polite and treated us well. We walked the site first on our own and then with a guide. The location is very scenic. Take the time to talk to one of the residents one on one. We learned quite a bit about... more

Expensive. Even taking a camera into the sight costs money. The sights in the compound though was interesting since they have preserved the pueblos from the past, but it wasn't worth the money that we spent. There's something in the place that felt like it was not authentic, but I just couldn't put a finger on it. There were actually... more

If you want to throw your hard earned money away, then this is the place for you. We intentionally set up our trip to visit this attraction??? on a Saturday so that we would be assured that things would be happening (ie, demonstrations, etc...) First off it cost $10/person to get in and then they charge an additional $5/camera (still... more

My husband and I went here on our 1 year wedding anniversary and I wish we didn't waste our time and money to go here. Listen to the other reviewers with the negative comments, they are true. First you have to pay $10 a person to get in and then $5 for each camera you take in the place, this... more

Trying to view Taos Pueblo and the Pueblo people from an anglo-saxon viewpoint is not the way to approach this unique place in New Mexico. Be open to how these people have lived here for hundreds of years and that little has changed since then. This multi-story pueblo is a unique example of how the Pueblo people lived in this... more

If I had it to do over I wouldn't. Wasn't worth the time or money compared tot he other things we did or could have done. The Taos Pueblo was trashed. Inhabitants had attitude. The tour included commentary that was bigoted and historically inaccurate. Overall, a disturbing look at the current state of culture in the Taos Pueblo. In all... more

The Taos Pueblo isn't Disneyland. This is the home of many Taos Indians today. I looked real hard for signs of "modern life" such as electricity and TV. There were none. It looked like a few of the pueblos had propane, but not very many. A few cars, but not even many of those. The pueblos are made of adobe... more

My wife and I visited the Pueblo on July 27, 2008. For us it ranked with Epesus in Turkey. What a great view of history. Every one of the people there were very helpful to us and we took a walking tour given by a young native which was gave us a good deal of insite into the life of... more

Taos Pueblo is a UN World Heritage Site, but it is also home to the Taos Indians, so it isn't a sparkling museum. It's not cheap to enter either, and you pay extra to use your camera. Since I believe the Native Americans have received a very rough deal over the last century or two, I didn't mind paying &... more
