On a recent trip to the Big Island in April, we spent an afternoon riding the Parker Ranch with Leila -- one of the coolest people you'd ever want to know. Leila's a true horsewoman with a terrific personality who's lived near the ranch all her life. After she completed college, she nearly left Hawaii to pursue a career on... more

We have visited the big Island four times without stopping at the Parker Ranch. On our fifth trip we had to spend one afternoon at the Parker Home and Garden. Want to see French paintings and Chinese art works in home settings? Go to the Parker house. See some Hawaiian history in the both the Parker houses on the grounds.... more

I hadn't been horseback riding in over 40 years so I was so happy with our group at Parker's Ranch. We were a group of four with a trail guide who was excellent. My daughter wasn't as comfortable riding so Carol was so patient and understanding with a beginner. It was over two hours and I enjoyed every minute. I... more

I recently visited the Big Island. It was my first time and I have always wanted to see what Hawaii was all about. I love tropical weather and it was a wonderful two weeks. A friend joined me and we decided to do some site seeing. We had heard about Parker Ranch. I am not a history buff, but the... more

On my last trip to Hawaii, we drove by the Parker Ranch and were amazed at the sight of this place. I'm from Texas and it almost felt as if we were back home - cactus, cattle, horses, cowboys and miles and miles of beautiful ranch land - you'd almost think you were in West Texas. Except for the site... more

Went to visit the Parker Ranch on my visit to the Big Island, what a beautiful place. The ranch had been the largest privately owned cattle ranch in the US for many years, and is still the 5th largest in the country! While you can't really get out onto to the ranch itself, you can visit a few parts of... more

My father and myself were staying in Kona for one week. After three days of plane rides, snorkeling and beaches, we were bored. A couple of retired sisters from Canada recommended the Parker Ranch and the private home, specifically the art collection, to us. The car ride wasn't much more than an hour and it was beautiful and amazing to... more

Thank you so much for the kind words. I will be sure to share this review with Minty. We do what we do here out of a labor of love for the history and heritage of this proud ranch and its special place in Hawaiian history. It's always a treat to hear guests show the same sort of affection for...

Parker Ranch was a very unique place that every visitor to the Big Island should take time from the beaches for. The rich history of the ranch gave great insight to the Hawaiian cowboy. We enjoyed touring the property and look forward to visiting again in the near future. The visit to the ranch was a refreshing break from the... more

We stopped at the Parker Ranch Historic Homes during our last visit to the Big Island. What a delightful surprise! The opportunity to walk through the original, 100% koa wood home of this remarkable family is a real privilege. In almost any other setting, visitors would have to settle for peeking through windows and standing behind barriers. Here you get... more

Took my 5 year old on the Wagon Ride thinking we would be taking a tour of a working ranch. It was more like a tour of the suburbs with a very taciturn driver. He looked the part of a great story teller cowboy but really couldn't be bothered with us tourists. Bring a jacket - it can be cold... more

Aloha from Parker Ranch, I just ran across this review. Let me first offer my heartfelt apology to the mother and child who were so disappointed in this activity. It is very regrettable that one of our former vendors provided an experience that did not live up to the standards, tradition and proud heritage of Parker Ranch. The vendor that...
