Japantown is pretty outdated and in need of an overhaul, but there are still some shops like White Crane Tea Company and the Nijiya Market that you could not find items anywhere else in San Francisco. Don't forget whitecranetea.com carries Japan's most premium tea‎ and is a little shop worth going out of your way on the upper level. more

Don't visit San Fran without seeing Japan Town! Plan on eating some great inexpensive authentic food at the Miyako mall. Take the bus easily and enjoy this peaceful quiet area. NOTHING like Chinatown! Japan Town is clean, safe, and the people are nice. more
