Never been to NY, never saw a Broadway show. Went to Mama Mia and LOVED IT. The talent was amazing. My husband liked their versions of the songs better than ABBA's. My husband has always refused to watch musicals - he won't watch musical films or anything with singing in. Just returned from a Sweet 16 trip - if you are going to B'way (especially with children) , read these TIPS... First, Broadway is one of the most vibrant, exciting spots in the world, a brilliant cacophony of sound, lights, bus traffic, people of all kinds, etc... My sister and I saw 3 shows while in NYC. Wicked, Avenue Q and Spring Awakening. We bought our Wicked tickets months before the trip but got the tickets to Spring Awakening and Avenue Q from the TKTS booth at South Street Seaport. If you are in New York you need to experience atleast one Broadway Show. There are so many different types of shows from musicals to comedy's you just need to find one that suits you.
