When we got a map on the internet of this park it looked like a great place where you can park very close to the water and enjoy walking along the bay waterfront. What you learn when you get there is that most of the roads are closed due to military housing being in the middle of the park. Sooooo...you... more

The reviews of the park made it sound like there was at least one nice beach (the one beach turned out to be next to the sewage plant). The rest of the beaches were private or unaccessible. The directional signs were confusing and misleading. We are fairly experienced (but low level hikers), but could NOT figure the signs out at... more

Must do: get to north of Seattle to Discovery Park -- at sunset -- and walk out to the lighthouse on the bay/puget sound - great sunset pictures and nice quiet area to relax. We lived in the military houseing in the middle of the park for 2 years and just loved the location. It's a little taste of the unspoiled Pacific North West right in the heart of town.
