It is hard to say that a memorial built to honor a person who was assassinated is “fun” but the MLK memorial and Center are well worth a visit to stop and consider the life of a very special individual. The center’s exhibits not only honor King’s life, they also allow us to reflect on a time in our not... more

We visited the MLK, sweet Auburn historical site. Ebenezer Baptist is undergoing major renovation. The tomb site was very moving and we would not have missed it. The museum was adequate, but considering the greatness of the man I would have expected a larger collection and more than is here. more

This museum is well worth the visit. We arrived late in the afternoon(4pm) and didn't have as much time as we would have liked before the site closed (6pm). Growing up in suburban/rural PA in the 70's, I wasn't exposed to much of the civil rights struggle although my black college roommate shared some of her experiences with me. This... more

This area is spread out over about 3 blocks. The main visitors center has some exhibits, which are basically boards you can read, photos and 2 films. The films are very loud and my son was not interested in reading all the exhibits. He did enjoy a small interactive area where he had to pretend he was an african-american in... more

The Martin Luther King Historic Site is operated by the National Park Service. I got a ticket to tour MLK’s birth and boyhood home on Auburn Ave. Before the tour I had just a little time to look around. I made the 1 PM tour and met the park ranger and about 12 other people in front of the home.... more

I went here with my family... and it was a very interesting museum. My favorite part was a simulated road with statues where you felt like you were walking with them. Seeing the church was exciting. This is a good place to go to, especially with kids who dont know what is was like. more

See the birth home, the tour guides paint a neat picture of MLK Jr. The tombstone and the pool are moving and the visitor center could take 2 hours if looking at everything, including the speeches on tape. We walked down Auburn Street to see the rest of the town. Homeless folks approached us. Although we noticed a police presence... more

It is really a very nice learning experience for us. It is indeed a must-go if you want to learn more about Afro- Americans' struggle for their rights. The places are very well-maintained. We decided to take a walk there from Underground Atlanta, recommended by the Underground Atlanta's website. But the walk turned out to be quite "happening" for us.... more
