My new husband and I hiked these falls on Monday July 14, 2008. We had a blast. The falls themselves are pretty dried up now, but in my opinion, the journey to the falls is the main attraction here. Once we reached the falls, it started pouring rain. It was so fantastic to be in the middle of the rain... more

Really easy hike through the jungle on contoured paths. Nice to actually get away from the action of down town with a great pay off at the end. This hike could be done by all ages, and was the day we were on the trail. more

The falls are pretty - Elvis and LOST fans will reconize them. For me and my friends the hike was like being back in time --- and here is the trick to really have an EXTREME version of the experience. While there is a nice wide paved walkway to and from the falls - there still are the ORIGINAL ancient... more

Not the world's most strenuous hike considering the constant payoff in views. The view at the top is clearly the best w/ the wonderful waterfall, but there is great scenery the whole way. You pass through many different ecosystems w/ all kinds of crazy vegetation that is fun to look at. The constant sound of running water also adds to... more

I strongly suggest anyone with a moment to step away from the beach take this short 1 mile (each way) hike. It is not challenging, altgough it is slippery and you MUST bring bug spray. Plus, no matter what the signs say, you HAVE to get in the refreshing pool at the base of the falls. Gladly pay $5 to... more

This is a wonderful little hike and I've got nothing to add on that score to the other reviews. When I went here though, I was concerned because the travel books all obsessed about the car break-in risk. As it turns out, the pay lot near the trailhead has an attendant, and it seemed pretty secure given that fact. note... more

We just got back from Oahu and we went on the hike to Manoa Falls. We rented a car for our trip to avoid shuttle fees to activities which are ridiculous so we only paid the $5.00 parking fee. The hike was very easy even for someone out of shape which we were. The rain forest was beautiful and it... more

I did various hikes while I was on Oahu, and I would have to say that the hike to Manoa Falls was the best. The trail had very few tourists and was set in the beautiful Manoa Valley. The hike to the falls meandered through various types of plants and was not too strenuous. The falls itself was breathtaking. It... more

I went on this hike today to see if my father (who is 74 years old) would be able to make the hike when he visits Hawaii later this week. I read other reviews which said that the hike is "easy," so I wanted to make sure. I'm glad I did, because the hike is not easy. The rocks can... more

It's not the most spectacular waterfall on the islands but I would be willing to bet that the hike to it is! We hiked to the falls and back in about an hour. We were amazed at the different ecosystems we walked through to get to it. If nothing else, the bamboo forest is worth the hike. I hope you'll... more
