Now into its seventeenth generation, Toraya has made traditional Japanese confectionery ("wagashi") for the imperial family since the 16th century. The museum opened in 1973 and the bulk of the collection comprises utensils and a myriad of different cake moulds for special occasions.
Tokyo's art stomping-ground, Design Festa Gallery, is full of artwork - even the building itself is a huge piece of art, covered in metal pipes and murals! Since opening in 1998, this gallery has welcomed the exhibitions of various artists in any genre of work. You can enjoy many different media in various sizes of exhibition area, murals on the building walls, and a lovely garden. Every area is a place of expression! Admission free!
