A nifty itinerary for those in town for the Derby but want to see what else this fair city has to offer.

No trip to Louisville would be complete without a trip to the Derby museum. Located at Churchill Downs, this museum showcases The Kentucky Derby and horseracing.
What more can be said about Churchill Downs? It's a definite must see during it's Spring meet. If you're here for the Derby, don't forget the Oaks; some call it the local's Derby.
Baseball fans from around the world come to marvel at the collection of memorabilia and to actually see the baseball bats produced. Best of all is the mini bat you get to take home.
4. The Belle of Louisville
Cruise down the Ohio river for lunch or dinner; great views of the Louisville skyline.
5. Louisville Bats minor league baseball
Attend a minor league baseball game at Slugger Field for fun for the whole family. Some games include fireworks.
6. Fourth Street Live
A great entertainment complex downtown with several bars/restaurants/stores including the Hard Rock Cafe. Be sure to sample a mint julep at one of the bars.
7. Bardstown Road
A street in town with a vast array of boutiques independent restaurants and antique shops galore.

Great historic downtown hotel that has seen the likes of Al Capone and many US presidents. Inside, The Oakroom is a 5 diamond restaurant you also won't want to miss. Also, it's very convenient to 4th Street Live.

An elegant downtown hotel that has a wonderful restaurant where you'll have to try Louisville's famous Derby Pie and a Hot Brown.
