Urban Walks

Ask this member a question. Noira2001 I always walk because I believe that walking is the best way to really get to know a place.

Boston's South End boasts the largest number of Victorian brick bowfront townhouses in one place. Interspersed with parks and shops, this historic, charming neighborhood is very walkable and encourages anachronism in the imagination.
2. New York City Greenwich Village
The more human scale of the buildings in Greenwich Village lend to its more personable aura. It is still Manhattan, but somehow more intimate. As in the rest of the Big Apple, there are numerous sights, culinary and historical discoveries to made in this neighborhood.
3. City of London
The actual City of London comprises a small area in central London near the Thames River. Somewhat deserted in non business hours, there are various monuements and public gardens hidden amongst the buildings. Nearby find remains of the original Roman wall amongst others.
Great views, shops, nightclubs and restaurants interspersed with Parisian apartment buildings make this neighborhood quite charming and colorful.
5. Venice Beach to Santa Monica Bay
Funky, jam-packed Venice Beach gives way to the more calm and sophisticated Santa Monica Bay along the beach trail.
6. Miami Beach Ocean Drive
Amazing Art Deco buildings line this street that's crowded day and night with beautiful club and beach goers. What a place to people watch!
7. Dallas Greenville Avenue
Primarily known for nightclubs, Lower Greenville is also a neighborhood down by the 'M' streets. Youthful and hip, enjoy a stroll through the 1920s streets.
There are some barren stretches compared to most urban settings, but a walk from South Congress towards downtown Austin affords a nice view of the State Capitol. Stop in and browse at the funky shops or get some great coffee on the way.
9. San Antonio River Walk Area
Feel like you are in Old Mexico on a stroll through this scenic area. The river is really more of a man-made garden pond at thisi point, but lovely it is.
10. New York Midtown
Broadway, Times Square and all its attendant glory is best seen after dark when the lights sparkle. There's no other place like it.
