1. Hyatt Regency Guam
Ave price: $234
A wonderful place to stay on Tumon Bay, with a central location right on the best part of the beach. The rooms are comfortable and attractive, each with a large lanai overlooking the hotel's tropical waterpark and the beautiful blue water of Tumon Bay. Each room has a luxurious bathroom, which will add to your enjoyment. The hotel also has the island's best Italian restaurant, Al Dente, which would be ideal for one of your weekend dinners. Check into the hotel on Friday evening to get an early start on your weekend.
2. Mandara Spa, Guam
Mandara Spa operates out of several Tumon Hotels, including Hilton Guam Resort & Spa, Outrigger Guam, and Pacific Islands Club (PIC) Guam. A late afternoon relaxing massage at any of their locations would set the mood for your weekend of pleasure.
3. Sunset Walk on Tumon Bay
After your massage, take an hour-long stroll along the coral sand of Tumon Bay. All your cares will melt away! At sunset, take a moment to look for the legendary green flash, visible just as the sun dips below the horizon. As you make your way back to your hotel, you will be awestruck by the multicolored spectacle that is the Tumon sunset. This is an experience you will never forget.
4. Dinner at Roy's in the Guam Hilton
Fine dining with the world-renowned fusion cuisine of Honolulu's chef Roy Yamaguchi, in an elegant setting overlooking Tumon Bay. The service is friendly and attentive, and the food "to die for." Especially outstanding are their classic gin martinis, filet mignon, and individual chocolate souffles! Roy's is the ultimate place to go on Guam for a special dinner.
5. Early Morning Snorkeling in Tumon Bay Marine Preserve at Ypao Beach Park
If you want to see tropical fish in their natural setting, go early in the morning to the Tumon Bay Marine Preserve at Ypao Beach Park, next to the Guam Hilton. The best snorkeling is directly out from the Ypao lifeguard station. The water is usually shallow enough to walk out most of the way, so even children or nervous swimmers can make it. You will be amazed at the variety of colorful fish to be seen right in Tumon Bay, also by the warmth and clarity of the water!
6. Underwater World Walk-Through Aquarium
If snorkeling isn't your cup of tea--or if you want to see even more tropical marine life, visit Underwater World, where a wide variety of sea creatures will literally swim all around you as you make your way through the aquarium. Children will especially enjoy the "petting" area, where you can touch many of these sea creatures, including a baby shark!
7. Spend the afternoon at the Pacific Islands Club (PIC) Waterpark
Ave price: $247
More fun than you can even cram into one afternoon! PIC has several swimming pools with waterslides, windsurfing lessons, and lots of games for all ages, not to mention the kayaking lagoon and a swim-through aquarium. Be as active as you want to be. Just lying in the sun and relaxing in this beautiful environment is also a lot of fun. PIC is great for everyone.
8. Experience Pacific Islands Culture at PIC's "Tropical Fantasy" Dinner Show
This is Guam's ultimate cultural dance show, featuring many of Guam's finest dancers performing dances from throughout the Pacific region in a spectacular man-made lagoon setting. Get there early, so you can sit at one of the front-row tables--and prepare to enjoy an unforgettable performance.
9. Sunday Brunch at the Guam Hilton's Islander Terrace
This is Guam's favorite Sunday Brunch, a local institution, where you will rub shoulders with the "movers & shakers" of Guam--for good reason! The wide assortment of high-quality food, both Western and Asian, will blow your mind. The Islander Terrace itself is a sunny space with huge windows looking onto a tropical garden. Linger over this lavish and enjoyable champagne brunch.
10. After-Brunch Siesta in a Hotel Waterpark
While away the afternoon with a good book in any of Tumon's beautiful hotel waterparks. The Hilton, Hyatt, and Outrigger Hotels have especially nice ones. This will provide the perfect relaxing finale to your unforgettable weekend in paradise.
